:)

Hi I'm Gemma, I'm 19 and a college student living in Cornwall. I study BA Photography at Falmouth University and I'm currently in my first year. This is a mixture of university work and some random snaps, please take a look!

hollyjadephotographer asked: awesome work

oh my, thank you so much! Just had a look at some of your work too, looks awesome :)

Maybe photographs don’t always capture a moment in time, frozen forever- they can show moments that can happen so quickly, just as time goes and moves so quickly too.

thescienceofself-destruction asked: Yaay! I'm so glad you're enjoying it :D I know, time goes so quickly once you start getting old :P The bakery, you've gotta come! Bright pink door, just behind the cathedral, on the same road as Walkers fish and chip shop. You seriously can't miss that bloody door! x

Thank you! :) Ugh, I know, it’s crazy, I feel like I should have grey hair sometimes! XD Oh wow, that sounds so awesome! Do you work there full or part time? Seriously gonna try and find this place next time I’m in Truro I think! :D I need some cake in my life! ;)

Birds and butterflies full of colours are pretty cool I think :)

This was taken for my self-portrait project a few months ago. I often feel like I have to wear make-up to hide my flaws, as I just don’t feel comfortable without it. I decided to go without for this photo however, to reveal a side that people perhaps don’t often see.

Everyday I travel to and from uni on my own, listen to my iPod, and just watch the world go by in a blur.

Some flowers that my Mum was given in March, I just thought the sunlight made them look really pretty :)

Some images from my current project. This is about tourist places which are often seen and photographed in a very familiar, repetitive way. I’m attempting to explore and reflect that by deconstructing them into repetitive patterns and shapes, and with the bottom image I’ve also distorted the buildings slightly to further distort your perception. This project is currently ongoing, I’ll add the other images when I’ve finished. To anyone who lives in Cornwall, they may be able to guess the building used in the bottom image, but for everyone else you may be able to guess the buildings used in the top image!

Can a photograph really reveal the inner being and soul of a person? What happens when their face is covered? Are eyes really a window to the soul? This was the main idea of my studio project from a few months ago- I used masks to try and question that belief.

These are from a project based on working in the studio.
